Kwendalo Gardens

At Kwendalo, we love to be in touch with the earth and, with Nature as our teacher, we strive to meet her needs with sound ecological processes. This, in turn, provides harmonious food and medicine for the estate. The Chakra and Herb gardens have been designed by Chelsea Gold Medal winner, Paul Martin and, in balance with nature, our gardens and green spaces are apt to change and mature.

We encourage you to access the knowledge of a balanced lifestyle and the role that our gardens can play in that lifestyle while you are at Kwendalo and to take that knowledge home with you.

Please note that our gardens are currently in development and not open to the general public. If you are interested in being notified of garden tours and other special events, please leave your email below to stay up to date.

Old Nick Market - Wednesday’s

Visit us at the Old Nick Market every Wednesday!

Market Garden

Our Market Garden produces much of what we consume at Kwendalo. This garden is a space for guests to learn and be inspired – a space for growth and accomplishment where we let nature be the instructor.

Medicinal Herb Garden

Take heart from our beautiful and fragrant Herb Garden, which will be home to over 50 species of herbs and plants to be used in treatments and at the Green Cafe.

Chakra Garden

The striking Chakra Garden has been developed around the seven chakras to symbolise Kwendalo’s philosophy of gardening with intention and working with the earth to provide a space for growth and meditation.

WORKING WITH NATURE

The only way to sustain our planet for the future is to protect and nurture its resources. Our organic farms are regenerative and sustainable, working in harmony with nature to replenish and strengthen the land. We provide healthy, nutritious food while drawing carbon down into the ground, removing it from the atmosphere. This isn’t just farming – it’s healing the earth, one season at a time.
