We want to extend our sincere gratitude to Kate Muller from Creative Nature for her incredible generosity in donating fynbos and ocean-inspired coloring books to the students of Bahia Formosa School in Plettenberg Bay! Bahia Formosa School is a pilot school for the Harmony Project in South Africa.
Kate designs coloring books that are not only visually stunning but also filled with captivating poems, fascinating facts, and engaging activities – an ideal education tool that fits the Harmony Project approach.
Tash Wilbert, Harmony Project Schools Co-ordinator with Kwendalo explains: “These books are a wonderful resource for our Harmony teachers at Bahia Formosa, enabling them to bring Harmony lessons to life in an inspired and enriching way. They help our students to connect with the abundance of creatures that surround us, whether it’s at school, in our communities, or at the beach.”
The books are especially useful as the students embark on their sustainability journey, exploring how our actions impact the animals around us and learning how to be responsible custodians of South African wildlife. The Grade 2 and 4 classes have found these books particularly helpful as they delve into topics like “where do animals live?” and the inspiration behind “How are human shelters inspired from animal homes?” in their Harmony integrated CAPS curriculum.
We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Kate for her generous support and for helping us to a deeper appreciation for the wonders of nature among our students. Your kindness is truly appreciated!
