Join us for what promises to be a delightful conversation with author Sue Swain & illustrator Julie Carlisle as they officially launch their new book series “Fruzz and the Fabled Planet”.   Inspired by her shared passion for nature and the fascinating field of “biomimicry”,  Sue is a Kwendalo Associate and has dedicated the last few years to cleverly crafting the story of earth’s unique qualities in a way that’s appealing from ages 6 and above, with educational content aimed at 9 – 90 year olds.

Our conversation will introduce the fascinating field of biomimicry, real life applications and why it arguably brings our greatest real hope and opportunity for humanity to step back into a more harmonious relationship with the living world. The evening will be peppered by readings (with a difference!) from the books and we will hear about the tale of how this endeavour all began and what motivated Sue and Julie to embark on this wondrous journey with Fruzz.

More about “Fruzz & the Fabled Planet”

Packaged as a series in the form of short books, the Fruzz series is a work of creative non-fiction (or perhaps a fictional tale inspired by fact) and is an unfolding adventure of discovery that reveals the secrets to thriving in the universe’s singularly perfect planet by learning from those in the know.  As such, Fruzz is ‘biomimicry’ in action. It aims to evoke wonder, awe, gratitude and love for this incredible planet we are privileged to call home and to stimulate a profound reconnection and belonging with Mother Nature.

Reviews:

“I hope these delightful books will reach many children, parents and grandparents! May our hearts bounce along with these creative stories’ beings and teach us that being part of cosmos and planet Earth is more than a story, it is a beautiful reality”

– Princess Irene of the Netherlands, Environmentalist, founder of the Spirit of the Wild

Books will be available for purchase on the night
