Dr Saskia von Diest, founder of Ecofluency will be joined by Emma Farrell (UK) for her first presentation in South Africa, in a co-presented evening on ‘Nature communication through Ecofluency and Plant Consciousness’, hosted by the Kwendalo Institute on Friday 17 February 2023 from 18:00-20:30.
Saskia will present her experiences in coming to Nature communication from an academic background, and her current work in teaching and consulting in Ecofluency – the ability that all humans have for two-way dialogue with any aspect of Nature.
Emma, trained in the indigenous traditions of the British Isles and the Amazon, will present about working co-creatively with the conscious intelligence of plants for psychospiritual healing, accessing deeper worlds and the use of plant essences, ritual, and meditation.
The talks, which will also touch on the importance of energetic safety and ‘psychic hygiene’, not only for Nature communication but also in our daily lives, will be held at Kwendalo’s Harmony Centre.

Both Saskia and Emma have been deeply interested in furthering their spiritual development for most of their adult lives. They met at a gathering of indigenous elders and wisdom-keepers in the UK in 2015, and soon realised that they share a love of communion and communication with trees and plants, for the co-evolution between humans and the rest of Nature.
While entheogens/ psychedelics are important as part of the growth of human consciousness, Saskia and Emma have both found that humans can easily communicate with plants and trees in an ordinary state of mind, without the use of psycho-actives. This allows us to access the deeper wisdom of Nature whenever we need, which is not often available to our everyday logical human minds. Empowering our physical, mental and emotional vitality in this way means we can co-create our practical decisions with the voices of the more-than-human world as part of the council, and design a future that is in true harmony with the rest of Nature.
What’s needed for this to happen is each person reclaiming the power of their ancient birthright and duty to rekindle their communication with Nature, and taking responsibility for their own healing. And rather than this being tedious or daunting, this journey can be wonder-filled and rewarding in ways many cannot even begin to imagine.
We invite you to come and hear Saskia’s and Emma’s experiences on this journey, join some guided exercises, and engage with questions. This is for anybody interested in Nature communication, including those who practice it already, though no previous experience is required.
ABOUT EMMA FARRELL
Emma is a plant spirit healer, shamanic teacher, and author of ‘Journeys with Plant Spirits’. She holds a master’s degree in ‘The Preservation & Development of Wisdom Culture & the Art of Liberation’ in the Tibetan Buddhist Mahayana Tradition, writing her thesis on ‘Understanding The Nature Of The Self Through Lucid Dreaming’. She spent 2 years at the Lama Tsongkhapa Institute in Tuscany, studying under lamas and geshes including her refuge lama, Dagri Rinpoche. Emma now runs the Plant Consciousness Apothecary and a Remote Healing Practice, and her School of Natural Esoterics will be launched in February 2023. More here…
ABOUT DR SASKIA VON DIEST
Saskia is the founder of Ecofluency, as well as consultant, educator, facilitator, researcher and activist in the field of Nature communication. Attending an animal communication workshop 10 years ago, during her PhD in Plant Pathology, sparked her interest in investigating intuitive farming, i.e. how farmers use intuitive communication with nature to inform their practical management decisions. From 2014-2020, she held two postdoctoral fellowships, at Stellenbosch University, and at Coventry University in the UK, to pursue this research, and has presented her findings on numerous international platforms. Throughout her postdoctoral years, she attended many workshops and courses in different countries, to train and develop her own understanding and practice in communication with trees, animals, land, nature spirits and ancestors. She’s also trained as a facilitator in Family Constellations, and in the Way of the Warrior Healer with the co-founders of Plant Consciousness including Emma Farrell. In 2021, she founded Ecofluency, an emerging organisation that offers consulting, facilitation, teaching and coaching in Nature communication. Through Ecofluency, she also promotes other human voices in this field, including through her association with other organisations and groups who share a vision of harmonious co-evolution with the rest of Nature. With 14 years of experience in teaching and facilitating through various forms and in many countries, her passion is creating opportunities for others to have their own experience of communicating with non-human Nature, and develop that for their own and the collective benefit.
