With nature as our teacher, we strive to meet her needs with sound ecological processes. This brings in return harmonious food and medicines. Here at Kwendalo we are employing many different techniques, some ancient and some new in order to mimic the natural environment to meet the needs in this day and age.
If we do not believe within ourselves this deeply rooted feeling that there is something higher than ourselves, we shall never find the strength to evolve into something higher.
– Rudolf Steiner
Our learning journey
Our learning journey is through what we do, how we do it, and why! This inspires us to keep exploring the natural world and the complexity of how it is constantly flowing through its rhythms of life. We cannot remove ourselves from where we come from but rather become one with it.
The Gardens at Kwendalo are being designed to support the different forms of wellness that we are offering; you can take a walk through the Chakra gardens that are reflecting our intentions towards plants and health. A wonder through the repurposed horse menage, now our market garden where we focus on growing food for table, and seed saving for the future. As you stroll through the estate the natural environment offers beautiful spaces to interact with the plants and animals calling this place home. We have a medicinal garden that allows you to connect with over fifty varieties of herbs grown at Kwendalo that we use for medicinal and culinary purposes. There is also a labyrinth next to one of our many water bodies on the estate where you can experience peace and relaxation.
We look forward to you visiting us at Kwendalo to join in this learning and growing experience. As we develop the grounds, we will be introducing various forms of interaction. These will include retreats on ‘How to prepare and tender your own food garden’, and shorter workshops on ‘Growing and preparing plant-based food’…
